Creative & Graphic Design

We have several designers that work for our group between our HQ in Llandrindod Wells, and our offices in Cardiff. Like our Photography and Videography team, they work across all parts of the Marches Business Group.

Creative and graphic design roles start at £16,000 per annum, with opportunities for increased responsibilities and salary up to £100,000 depending on performance, skills and experience.

Design roles require a level of commercial awareness, and all round business knowledge along with a number of key skills and attributes which can also provide excellent grounding for becoming a Shareholder/ Business Owner/ Director.

Creative & Graphic Design In More Detail

Design is a very broad topic and being a creative or graphic designer can mean that you are involved with, or responsible for several different things that fall under a ‘design’ category. From branding and logo design, to bespoke graphic illustrations, websites, marketing, packaging, and product design, our in-house team dip in and out of all kinds of dynamic projects across the group.

An in depth understanding of the purpose and ethos of each business, as well as a good understanding of their individual target audiences is essential in being successful in creative design roles to be able to produce work that accurately represents the business or brand it is intended for.

To become a creative or graphic designer qualifications are not always necessary, but experience using certain software such as Wix, Magento and Adobe Creative Suite can be advantageous. Good overall business understanding is a must, along with a combination of the following attributes and skills:

  • A creative flair with an eye for design.

  • Organised and able to work to tight deadlines.

  • Adaptable and able to simultaneously work on multiple projects.

  • Able to follow instructions and work to a brief.

What Our Team Say

“As a Graphic Designer for the Marches Business Group my job is to produce content for all companies across the business group. Whether it's rebranding company's, producing printed advertising or digital social content. My main responsibility is ensuring that the Marches Business Group is well represented visually. I enjoy working as part of a team to overcome design challenges and to fulfil design briefs.”

— Rhodri. Graphic, Photography & Product Design Coordinator.

“Graphic Design within the Marches Business Group is a highly rewarding career path. Working on a brand from beginning to end and seeing its application is always compelling. Capturing a brand ethos within a logo is always fun and can be an exciting challenge. Take Wilba; the curve of the flower represents the growth and the regeneration of our countryside. Its flat icon aesthetic makes it relatable to all generations and the colour palette is neutral yet impactful and sampled from the Welsh countryside. This is all in line with their beliefs and that's definitely the most important aspect of each project”

— David. Graphic Design Coordinator.
