Quality Control & Product Development
In order to manufacture and distribute the highest quality products across our group, we have an in-house team of quality control and product developers to ensure that the standards that we pride ourselves on is maintained across our product ranges.
These roles are office based, and involve a combination of practical assessment work, spot checking products from our factories, reporting on relevant QC issues that are identified, and working with relevant teams internally on other ongoing QC and product development work.
Roles vary and can involve working independently, in a team or in a management role. As with many other roles across the business, salaries start at £16,000 per annum at assistant level and can go up to £100,000 depending on experience and responsibilities.
Excellent attention to detail is essential, in addition to all round business knowledge and a number of other key skills and attributes it can provide excellent grounding for becoming a Shareholder / Business Owner / Director.
What Our Team Say
“We check a sample from each production run of products for the quality of function and finish. We provide the production team with feedback reports detailing errors and areas for improvement. We quarantine problem stock to either be repaired or scrapped. Every faulty replacement order is quality checked by us, every return is inspected to determine if it can be resold, repaired, or scrapped. We create data sheets as a guide to creating the products including key measurements and past faults to avoid, as well as the type of fixings to include and correct packaging and barcodes. We reuse spare parts from faulty products to avoid waste, maintaining a stock of spare parts to draw on when needed.”
— Dave. From The Anvil Quality Control Coordinator.
“I organise a wide variety of day-to-day processes within the business. These range from answering technical question sent in from our stockists and end users to organising large quality control projects. While doing this, I liaise with a variety of teams to ensure these processes are carried out to a high standard and run efficiently. I am able to utilise my experience as a trained carpenter to help with technical problems and overcome most practical issues we encounter on a daily basis. I also enjoy working as part of a close-knit team to achieve our goals and having a few laughs along the way.”
— Mark W. Technical and Quality Control Supervisor.
