Marketing and Branding In More Detail

Having a strong brand to work with is one of the most powerful tools in a marketeer’s box. A brand is something that distinguishes a seller’s goods from their competitors. This could be a name, a logo, or a design feature, so getting this element right from the beginning is key.

Beyond the ideas and creation of the initial brand concept, our team work to create content, media, and other marketing material to be able to communicate the brand to the desired target audience.

To be successful, team members working on strategies and content need to have a good overall understanding of the business, a level of commercial awareness and an excellent understanding of their customer and target audience. Keeping an eye on competitor activity and keeping up with market trends and the latest tools is also essential.

It’s not necessary to have a qualification to be successful in a marketing and branding role, but the following key skills and attributes are desirable:

  • Creative with an eye for design.

  • An outside the box thinker.

  • Adaptable, and able to work independently.

  • Organised and able to work to deadlines.

What Our Team Say

“After completing a Marketing degree in University, I love that I can put what I have learnt into practice within a Business. My job role includes managing the social media channels within the Marches Business group, arranging collaborations with influencers, and organising and compiling all the content to post. Whether this be content we already have or organising case studies at properties that feature our products. I thoroughly enjoy this part, as I can go out and about and view the amazing properties and people! Email marketing is another aspect of my job, designing and compiling information for our huge database of customers, making sure they are engaged in the content and enticing them to click through to our website. Overall, I love the variety of my job and the career opportunities available within the Marches Business Group.”

— Millie. Marketing & Content Coordinator.

“Whilst studying for my design degree I found idea generation the most enjoyable stage of every project. I had hopes of becoming an Art Director, but at the time the role felt unattainable. A job I only associated with lengthy experience within a stressful London based agency.

I joined the Marches Business group after leaving University and have worked across all aspects of the company, gaining valuable business and life experience along the way. Building on my natural strengths I had the opportunity of becoming Creative Director at the age of 30.

I feel very lucky to be able to work with a growing group of young, talented people on a wide variety of dynamic projects whilst being able to live in the peace and beauty of Mid Wales.

My role requires a blend of creative vision and business sense. I aid the team with branding, marketing, graphic and product design across all companies within the group to ensure everything we produce looks good and delivers its commercial purpose in creative and engaging ways.”

— Alice. Creative Director.
